Board Members

President 

Paulette is a transplant from New England. She was a teacher and administrator in public education for 38 years. She now serves as president of EDSUPPORT, LLC, providing educational consultation and grant writing services to local schools and non-profits.

Vice President

Sue is a retired classroom/library educator. A lifelong supporter of libraries, she served several years on the Library Advisory Board and can often be found volunteering at the desk.

Secretary

AnnJi has been in Safford since 1969 and retired from teaching middle school students in 1997. She served on the Library Advisory Board from 1991 - 2020 and has been on the Friends' Board since 2011. AnnJi is our newsletter editor and handles our bulk mailings.

Treasurer

Donna is a retired US Air Force officer. Her family moved to the Gila Valley in 2009. In 2012, she opened Rex OBGYN – Women’s Healthcare with her husband, Dr. Douglas “Rex” Harrison. Donna has served on the Board since 2011.

At-Large

Sam was born and raised in Safford. He is retired from the City of Safford. Sam is an active Friends member and has been serving on the board since January, 2018.

At-Large

Paul is a 60+ year Safford resident who enjoys serving Graham County on the Board of Supervisors as well as on the library and other community boards. Along with his family, he operated David’s Safford Funeral Home for 30 years. Paul is a licensed civil engineer. He is an avid supporter of reading and childhood education.

Ex-Officio

Victoria is the Director of the Safford City-Graham County Library. She has worked in libraries for over a decade and moved to the Gila Valley in 2018. She previously worked at libraries in the Phoenix area, facilitating programs from youth to adult. She has served on the Friends’ Board since 2018.
